About us
County Needlecraft is a family run business specialising in quality counted cross stitch kits. It was formed early in 1997 and is run by husband and wife team Janice and Bill Peters.
All of our designs are from original paintings and designs by talented artists living and working in the UK.
The Westcountry Scenes series are well known locations in the west of England and the original paintings were by Susan Myrick who lives and works in Minehead, Somerset. They use whole & half cross stitches with back stitch outlining.
The delightful Primary series is taken from a series of paintings by Mark Ferdinando who is based in South Molton, Devon and these are ideal as quick projects or for those new to cross stitch as they use mainly whole cross stitch.
The Celtic series with its designs reminiscent of ancient manuscripts has proved to be popular and the stitched designs are always a talking point.
The reflections series includes the evocative "Sepia Girl" - a thoughtful, placid design that conjures up a quiet moment on a summer's day. Not only is this a lovely design to look at, it is very easy to stitch.
We also have the "Birds" series, the "Just for fun" series and the "Zodiac" series as well as anniversary samplers and cards for special occasions - something for everyone.
Most of our designs are available either as a complete kit or as a chart with key - and all of our kits and charts contain our "Beginners start here" guide.
The majority of our kits are stitched on 14 count Aida fabric. However we feel that some of our more detailed designs look more effective when stitched on a finer fabric and so these kits are supplied with 18 count Aida. (In our chart packs we give dimensions for both 14 count and 18 count Aida so that you can stitch on a fabric of your own choice).
Each of County Needlecraft's designs are available either as a complete kit or as a chart with key. Prices and ordering information are given in the separate price list.
